My name is Mbato Nkwocha and I am your newly elected President of Umu Igbo Unite – Dallas Chapter for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. I am humbled and most appreciative of the opportunity presented to me. I genuinely look forward to having the opportunity to meet you all in person and I am very excited about the projects we will be working on together in the future. I would like to encourage each of you to join UIU-Dallas and actively participate as much as your busy lives permit. If you are new to UIU, the first meeting will welcome you into the fold of our active organization.

You will get to meet your executive board members, learn about the organization as a whole and how you can become more involved, hear the grand ideas that have been brewing for the upcoming year, and most importantly meet new people like yourself! Plenty of opportunities will be presented and you will be able to sign up for various committees and areas of interest during this time. A team approach most definitely is necessary to create and maintain the desired environment we seek as not only an organization, but as an Igbo community.

As an executive board, our most important priority is gaining your commitment as a member for the betterment of the organization as well as the productivity you will see firsthand from us. Our leadership team will always be around at the end of each meeting to speak informally about our experience and answer questions you might have. This year, UIU-Dallas has set the stage for teamwork and continued success; you are in the best of hands! I hope you all are as excited as we are to get this fiscal year rolling as we look forward to the challenges that we’ll face in bringing our Igbo community together as well as keeping our Igbo
culture and traditions alive.

This is going to be a fun year! Igbo Kwenu!

Respectfully,
Mbato Nkwocha
President, UIU-Dallas Chapter
